I’m pleased to have my painting Into the Wild (Santa Cruz Island, 9×12 inches, Oil on Linen Panel) included in an endeavor to help protect and preserve the California islands. The 9th California Islands Symposium will take place in Ventura, California, and will present an exhibition of island-related artwork.
The Symposium will be held October 3 – 7, 2016 at the Ventura Beach Mariott. More information about the event is available from the Symposium website including the following description. The California Islands Symposia are important gatherings for scientists, resource managers, educators, and land managers to present recent findings in science, management, and conservation on California’s Islands, including all of the islets, rocks, and islands off the Pacific coast of California and Baja California.
Immediately following the Symposium, the art exhibition will be moved to the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden in Santa Barbara, California, and will be displayed there from October 9 – November 6, 2016.
